hoord is an idea that we've been working on for a while. We loose things all the time & some people are happy just to steal our stuff as well. We just kept wondering where does all the lost and stolen stuff go? How hard is it to find the genuine owner?
We thought there had to be something proactive we could do, something that can be used anywhere there's internet access, something that's available on as many devices as possible, something that gives items the best possible chance of being returned to their owners and so hoord came to be.
hoord is free to search and free to contact the owner, you don't need a hoord account.
By searching a serial number you can check the status of that item, find any extra information related to that status, you can also contact the owner whilst maintaining their anonymity.
When you create a hoord account the first three items you register are free, you can register anything from your mobile phone to your washing machine, so long as it has a unique manufacturers serial number it can be registered.
After your freebies Registering an item costs £2.50 and transferring ownership of an item costs £1.50. You can even register items that you have lost or have been stolen for free, please see our pricing page for more information.
hoord is just starting its journey, from an idea derived from personal experience, from just experimenting to something that we think will change the world, hoord is not funded by venture capital or by angel investors.
