Searching hoord

Searching hoord is really simple, free for everybody, you don't even need an account. All you have to do is enter a serial number and click Search

What the results mean

When you search hoord there are a number of possible statuses that can be returned, so below we'll go through the statuses and important extra information.

Also, If the serial number of item you search for is not registered on hoord your will just be redirected back to the search page.

Registered

For registered items the information will be surrounded by a reassuring green border, indicating that as far as we know everything appears to be ok with this item.

Lost or Stolen

If the item is lost/stolen the item information will be surrounded by a red border and there may be extra information explaining how and where the item was lost or stolen as well as contact details for the police service the loss has been reported to

If you find a lost or stolen item please contact the owner and if set please report your find to the police service listed.

For Sale

If the item is for sale the item information will be surrounded by a orange border and the owner can share links to websites that the item is for sale on.

Sold

If the item is for sold the item information will be surrounded by a orange border.

Sold items are in a transitional stage between the old owner the new owner.

Registering an item

We've tried to make registering your items as easy as possible,

First off you'll need an account to be able to register items.

Log into hoord, on your My items page go to the Register New tab enter the Model or Description, our system will filter down and present you with options as you type so all you have to do is select the correct model.

If your item doesn’t come up don't worry, you can also manually enter the Manufacturer, Model and Description information.

Enter the unique Serial Number of you item, the Date Purchased the item and click add.

If you've got any free registrations or you have ticked This is a lost item the item will be instantly listed, otherwise you'll be redirected to the Registration Summary page.

If everything is in order click Pay Now, hoord uses PayPal to process your payment so you will be redirected to the PayPal payment page.

If you already have a PayPal account you can just log in and complete the payment, alternatively if you do not have a PayPal account you can pay using just a Credit or Debit card.

Once you have gone through the PayPal payment process you will be redirect back to hoord and you item will now be registered.

A Lost or Stolen item

If you are unfortunate enough to loose one of your items or have it stolen, letting other hoord users know is quick and simple.

Log into hoord, on your My items page find your item click the status dropdown and select Lost/Stolen, hoord will refresh the data and the item will now be listed as Lost/Stolen.

To add extra relevant information relating to the lost of this item, go to the Lost/Stolen tab in My Items you can enter the Details and Date of Loss, and if you have reported the loss to the Police please add the Police Incident Number and the Police Constabulary

When you enter a Police Constabulary our system will filter down and present you with options as you type, if doesn’t come up don't worry, you can also manually enter the Police Constabulary, Telephone and URL information

Once you've finished click Update

Selling an item

The For Sale status allows owners to share what sites their item is for sale on and so help give confidence to the next potential owner.

Log onto your hoord account, On your My items page find your item click the status dropdown and select for sale.

now go to the For Sale tab under the item you are selling you will have a text box with an add button, this is where you can enter the links to the site you are selling you item on.

The best way to add a link is to open a new tab or window and browse to listing on the site where your are selling your item, click the address bar in your browser and highlight the entire web address, press Crtl+c our right click and select copy

Go back to the for sale tab, on the item you selling select the text box and press Ctrl+v or right click and select paste, the link to that page should fill the text box now click add.

Sold items

Once you have sold an item transfering it over to the new owner is the next step,

On your My items page find your item click the status dropdown and select Sold, hoord will change the status to Sold and refresh the data.

Now go to the Sold tab and for the item you are selling enter the email address or username of the person you have sold the item too in the Buyer textbox and click Send,

This will send a transfer email to the new owner and link the item to their account so that it appears at a transfer item.

To complete the transfer both the seller and the buyer need to accept the transfer, so once your certain the items being transferred over to the right person click accept

If you wish to Revoke the transfer at anytime up to the item being transferred over to the new owner.

Transfering items

When you purchase a item already registered on hoord the current owner has to start the transfer by changing the status of the item to Sold, the item will then be listed on the buyers Transfer tab on the My items page.

Once both the seller and the buyer have clicked Accept and approved the transfer the new owner will be able to add the item to their account

If you've got any free transfers the ownership information for the item will be instantly updated, otherwise you'll be redirected to the Transfer Summary page.
